Week 7~ The Shopping Begins!

As we anxiously await our ultrasound next week ~ and our "for real" due date.  We've accomplished alot this week!

Boy and girls name have been decided upon~ this will be a surprise to everyone...only Troy and Grandma Diane know.  We just hate experiences in the past where expecting parents will tell someone their name and it ends up "reminding them of that fat girl in high school", etc.  Bleh.

Our first trip to Baby Gap was a success- we found some maternity clothes for me for our Florida trip and super cute onesies that say "I love Mommy", "I love Daddy", and "Born to Ride".  :)  Ben about shit when realized that yes onesies really do cost $15.00 @ Baby Gap.

We are hitting Baby Depot and Slumberland this weekend to do some crib shopping.  :)  And are beginning to tackle the guest bedroom to transform it into our baby room.  We've decided to find out the sex ahead of time so baby room decor can take place (**Aunt Teri has already kinda volunteered if it's a girl)!!!  yay!!

Can't wait till next week's post to be able to blog about actually seeing our little one this time and knowing our actual due date!

Till next week!
All our love,
Ben, Shannon and Baby B

  1. We have the Kendall crib from Pottery Barn Kids. Incredibly sturdy! Only $400 (which is a great price for PB).
    Have fun shopping!

  2. I hear you about baby names. When I told Ben the name we had picked out if we had a boy, Olly, he told me, "He's going to be gay." Good thing we had a girl. However, if you're picking something kind of different, ie Copper, I would recommend telling before hand to let it sink in. Some names take time to love.

If Des Moines's Gap is like the Gap here, they have sales every Wednesday. If you get on their e-mail list you can even score 40% off coupons.

  5. uggh I had a whole long thing that just erased... so I'm going anonymous here.

Hoping to make it to Iowa this spring/summer but it's hard to pin Derek down. I ask him about every week to no answer. Our lives are so busy here, I hate being a business owner this year. Some years better than others.

Maybe we'll join y'all with our new van over Labor Day? I hear it's a big Strong get together.

    Have fun in Matlacha (Mat-la-shay)!

    Recs:
Berts Bar: fabulous fried grouper and awesomely bad bands at night and the place to go for beers (famous for the area)

Sandy Hook (walkable) great grouper ritz. more touristy

Reds on Pine Island is my mom's favorite restaurant. always busy

Get the aerial map out before you go kayaking and go find the mangrove tunnels and hidden birds. promise you'll be out for a couple hours, it's so cool. and the water is not more than 2 feet deep except across the boat path

The ice cream place at the end of the street is DEElicious and be sure and take an afternoon to walk in the famous Matlacha art shops. you won't be disappointed. That's really fun too

Would love to paint a simple something for Baby B when we make it out. Big oversize flowers? Baseballs?

So exciting for y'all! Congrats and can't wait to see everyone again soon. Lucy is HUGE!
